Spring Break Day 6: Alkmaar and LaTrappe

On our 6th and final day of our Netherlands trip, we left Haarlem by 9 a.m. and headed toward Alkmaar to see this city known for it's cheese market. It wasn't cheese market day but we still were able to see a bit of the city including some fantastic cheese shops.
From Alkmaar we headed south and east toward the Koningshoeven Monastery where the only trappist brewery in the Netherlands is located. We arrived early and made arrangements for an English tour and then sampled the blonde, bock, witte, double, triple and quadrupple beers. We then were taken around the LaTrappe brewery to see the process used in making the beers. It was a fun way to end our tour of the Netherlands.
