Spring Break Day 4: Keukenhof

On Easter Sunday we began the day by traveling to the Crossroads International Church in Amstelveen. Brian, whose flat we were staying at, had said that was where he went when he wasn't working offshore. It was an inspiring service. Most everyone spoke Dutch but the whole service was in English. The pastor is Irish and had a heavy accent, but the resurrection message came through clearly. They also had a special guest "sand artist" who used his hands to move the sand on a sheet of glass that was illuminated and then projected by video. He told the story from the "last supper" through the resurrection. It was amazing.

After church we drove to Keukenhof to see the world famous international flower exhibition. It boasts of having more than 7 million flowers, including every size and color of tulips, daffodils, hydrangeas, hyacinths, forsythia, poppies, roses, lilies, ranunculus, orchids and even helleborus. We've never seen so many flowers displayed in one place. There were displays hosted by cities and companies from all over the world. We spent over four hours just walking around with at least 100,00 others enjoying the beautiful Easter holiday. We tried to capture the beauty of the flowers to be able to share with you. Enjoy!
