Duna Bridge Walk

Jack has had the goal to walk all seven bridges that cross the Danube: From the south, Rakoczi hid (bridge), Petőfi hid, Szabadság (Freedom) hid, Erzsébet hid, Széchenyi lánchid (chain bridge), Margit hid, and Árpád hid. On Sunday we were able to satisfy that goal. Jack, Cindy, Susan, Justin, and Szilvi began at walk at 10:00 A.M. We officially finished the walk at 2:10 P.M. Walking between the bridges was quite easy as there are fairly good pedestrian walkways along the river, and we passed some beautiful buildings and monuments.

Here are some numbers: Total distance walked was 8.7 miles. Distance from the southernmost bridge to northernmost was 4.8 miles. Closest bridges are Szabadság to Erzsébet (.62 miles) and the bridges with the greatest distance between are Margit and Árpád (1.67 miles). Árpád, our last bridge walked, was definitely the longest.
