Spring Break Day 1: The Floriade

The Netherlands was our spring break destination. We had six days to explore the country. Rain was predicted for most of the time, but we ended up with only one day of real rain and even had one completely sunny day!

We flew into Eindhoven and arrived at the Floriade just as it was opening for the first day. The Floriade, staged once every ten years is a horticultural exposition that showcases the world's best flowers, plants, trees and fruits. We walked through every exhibit and took in every show in our eight hours there. It was cool, cloudy and windy; so even though it was the first day of the six-month long exhibition we didn't have to fight crowds. It was a great beginning to a wonderful trip!
