Ippistle 14.1

Ippistle 14.1

Jack and Cindy Ippel

Dear friends and family,

First of all we thank you for the many prayers and words of condolence after the death of Jack’s dad. We were blessed to be able to spend time with so many of you coming to the visitation. At the memorial service, after hearing the Galatians 5 list of the fruits of the Spirit, several commented that Dad’s life epitomized these qualities. We are so thankful for the time we were all able to spend with him recently celebrating his 86th birthday. Now we celebrate his life, having many wonderful memories and sharing them.

Now, as a part of our TeachOverseas commitment, we are participating in the new teacher training. We will be here in Pasadena for a total of two weeks. During this time we teach some of the sessions and assist in observing and encouraging the new teachers. Jack also has the privilege of leading worship this Sunday, not from his usual place behind the keyboard, but from the pulpit. He has been asked to give the sermon on “Identity in Christ” to everyone here at training. Please pray for God to speak through him the words that are needed.

We also have met our new teammates, Ashley Hunt and Sharon Bauer. Sharon will be teaching with Jack at Trefort (taking Scott’s place) and Ashley will be her roommate and will be teaching at another school in Budapest. Both Ashley and Sharon are in their mid twenties and have lived and worked overseas this past year. We have had an enjoyable time the last couple of days getting to know both of them. We have the beginning of a great relationship as a team; working well together. Please pray for the four of us as we transition to Budapest as a team.

This coming year we have the responsibility of being “country advisors”(CA’s) to several others on our Hungary team. This involves acting as accountability partners as well as just good listeners. Pray that as we take on this new role, that we will build good relationships with those that we will be advising and that there will be a relationship of trust between us. Pray that we will be wise and discerning in our actions and reactions.
We are excited to be going back to Budapest and continue the work we began. God has blessed us with so many great relationships that we hope to be able to continue to develop. We look forward to being back at Trefort and at the Mission Institute in our roles in each place. We trust that God will continue to use us in building relationships that will move His Kingdom forward. We have been encouraged, after hearing from you, to learn about your interest in and your prayers for what is happening through our ministry in Hungary.

Our time spent in the US this summer has been filled with wonderful visits with family and friends. We enjoyed having a whole week at a cottage with our kids and grandkids. We also enjoyed being able to share a bit about our ministry at Wheaton CRC, the church that Cindy grew up in, and at our home church Evergreen Ministries. EGM presented us with a gift from the May “corners offerings” of over $3000 for our ministry at Trefort. There is a wonderful school supply store here in Pasadena where we bought over $650 worth of school supplies for the staff at Trefort. Another $250 in postage has it on its way to Trefort. So thank you EGM for providing these much appreciated supplies!

We hope this Ippistle has served to catch you up a little bit on our lives. Thank you again for being our partners.

Serving Him,

Jack and Cindy
