Arthur Thangiah Returns

Last week Arthur Thangiah from Mumbai, India, was our guest here in our flat. He is the director of Sahaara Charitable Society, and was in Budapest leading a seminar at the Mission Institute. Cindy met him at a similar conference last year, and we enjoyed getting to know him better and hearing him speak. His ministry in India benefits prison inmates and their families, orphans, and women who are trapped in the prostitution trade. Besides leading the seminar, he was also able to visit a prison in Vác (a nearby town) and share a message with the prisoners.

(There is a growing community of Christians in the Vac prison since they received a female chaplain. When asked for an explanation of how there have been so many prisoners becoming Christians, including even the prison warden, she took no credit but said, "God has done all the work and I have watched, which is better than me doing the work and God watching.")

As Arthur's host and hostess we provided him with a home base: a place to eat, sleep, and use the computer. Cindy accompanied him to the Mission Institute each day, and also served as tour guide one morning. It is always a pleasure to meet other workers in God's kingdom and hear new perspectives on doing His work.
