All of Saturday was spent in Ozd where Joco's grandma lives. It is truly a trip back 150 years in time. The village of Ozd is at the end of a 20 km road. You must picture farming by hand; bringing water up from the well; using an out-house; the sounds of chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese. Joco's grandma was also hosting another son and daughter, plus grand-children and great-grand-children. We toured the grounds of Bonus Pastor, an alcohol rehab center that Joco formerly managed. Bonus Pastor also owns a five-hundred-year-old castle that needs lots of fixing up before it can become a "retreat center at the end of the world." In the afternoon the four of us, Cindy, Jack, Joco, and Renata, went up the hill to see what was formerly a hunting lodge that Ceaucescu "owned".

The castle dominates any view of the village! It is an amazing building! We also scoped out the place for a geocache placement.

Bringing in the hay--just had to take this picture.

Dinner with the family.

Jack showing Grandma pictures of our children and grand-children.

At 8:00 P.M. the cows come home, some of them even using the side-walk. The village cow-herd walks them through the town, and each cow knows which gate she needs to go in!
