This past fall, Jack was able to meet Krisztian Klemm in Budapest the week prior to his moving his family to Zeeland for 6 months. Jon and Joy were able to spend quite a bit of time with their families together and introduced us to the whole family over Christmas. This month, they returned to Innotec in Budapest and invited us to meet them at Városliget (City Park) to spend time together getting to know their family better. We had a wonderful time seeing the sights and enjoying them and their children. (makes us miss our own kids/grandkids). The park contains a castle, museum, circus, zoo, lake, church, and many other buildings including the famous Széchenyi baths. The city of Budapest has many mineral springs underground and we went to a building where you can buy the mineral water to drink. We all shared a liter to drink. (It smells like rotten eggs but we are so much healthier for drinking it!) The picture below is of us with Krisztian and Agi and their kids in front of a sand clock that measures time for a whole year. So at the beginning of each year they turn the whole wheel. Sounds like something that would be fun to watch!

Jack wanted his picture with George Washington. The statue was erected in 1906 to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Hungary and as a sign of the ties that the U.S and Hungary have in the struggle waged to be democracies.

Here are some of the buildings we saw at the City Park; as always, old and beautiful. This one, below, is Ják Chapel.

We had invited Jack's 11D class to come over for pizza that night.
We had 16 pizzas made by the time Jack's 11D class came for the party. We had a great time just hanging out and getting to know the 17 guys and 1 girl that came. Scott (our teammate) also joined us and we had some engaging conversation mostly one on one or with a couple of guys at a time. It was a good relation building time. Here are pictures of the group.
