Hungarian Car Survey

The Suzuki WagonR - most popular "family" car.

The Wartburg - made in East Germany.

The Lada - a Russian make.

The Polski Fiat - made in Poland.

The Dacia - made in Romania.

Another unofficial survey...

Judging by the cars seen in the parking lots and on the streets, here is the list in order of popularity, and followed by model name:

Suzuki (Hungarians call them "our car") - Swift, Ignis, WagonR (van)
Opel - Corsa, Astra, and Vectra
Skoda (Czech) - Fabia, Octavia, Felicia, Superb, or Roomster (a mini-van)
Renault - Thalin, Clio, Twingo
Ford - Focus, Fiesta, Mondeo
Chevrolet - Aveo and Lacetti
Citroen - C4, Xsara
Daewoo - Matiz, Kalos, Lanos
Fiat - Bravo, Punto, Panda, Ulysse
Peugeot
Mercedes
Nissan - Almera, Note
Volkswagen - Polo, Passat
Seat (Spanish) - Leon, Ibiza
Toyota - Yaris, Corolla

Then a smattering of Audis, Kias, Volvos, and Porsches.

Interesting note: I discovered a Chevy Kalos and a Daewoo Kalos. I've learned that Chevrolet bought Daewoo.

I like the Suzuki wagon. Not made in the US, huh? All the cool cars stay in Asia and barely make it to Europe.
