School Stuff: (2) The Staff Room

It seems that lately the emotions in our English department staff room have been running high. I think there are a number of reasons for this: students are getting harder to handle (spring fever!), job security for next year is quite uncertain, the school has announced other cutbacks in the next year because "there is no money", and perhaps there are some personal reasons. So we Americans try to keep the mood light, bring in a snack every once in a while, and try to be positive in our words and actions. There was also some money stolen from a colleague's wallet in our room earlier this week. The room is normally locked when vacant, so one can imagine how the teachers are becoming more emotional.
