It was good to be able to take public transportation there, but it sure is a long way from the city center. From our flat we walked to the metro station, took the "blue" metro to the furthest end station, then took a tram to its end station, and then walked another kilometer to "our" road.
ServeTheCity is a civic organization that advertises itself by word of mouth and by Facebook. So this event provides us with opportunities to meet people we have never met before, which we feel is a great benefit. We also were glad that five students from Jack's school were also participating.
After two hours of dirty work we all met downtown for pizza and hanging out together. That was the time when we could get to know each other better.
