Yesterday we held a peanut butter taste test in my 11D2 class. I had promised this way back in September, but the peanut butter could not be shipped. We were able to bring four jars back with us during the holidays. With the one Trader Joe's jar we had in the cupboard, and a jar of Felix peanut butter that is available in local stores, my students sampled six different choices and rated them on taste, smoothness, sweetness, and greasiness, finally averaging the ratings to get an overall score for each. The results, in order from favorite to least favorite:
1. Jif
2. Meijer brand
3. Walmart brand
4. Felix
5. Peter Pan
6. Trader Joe's (natural)
My apologies for not accompanying this post with some pictures. They would have been good. But classes were shortened yesterday and we were quite pressed for time. And thanks to Peggy TenHarmsel's small group at ZCS for supplying the peanut butter!

was greasiness considered a good trait or a bad one? sounds like a fun cultural event!
I hope you did not use the p-nut butter that has just been recalled from the shelves because of Salmonella. YIKES!
