First Week

It has been an interesting week for us as we have been acclimating to our new world. School has gotten off to a slow start, because the 9th graders have been gone on field trips all week. My schedule is 75% ninth grade. So a bit of sitting around. We have met many people, American and Hungarian. Cindy introduced herself to our "fruit lady" and hopes to be able to chat with her when our Hunagrian improves. We also met Gyongy who lives in a building across the way; this Hungarian lady was very helpful, can speak English well, and gave us her phone number for any times when we need help. On Wednesday night this week we were the guests of a local Reformed Church of America missionary couple at a local restaurant. They were hosting a mission tour of twelve pastors from the U.S. We really enjoyed the food and the show (ethnic dances and songs) and especially the interaction with the Americans.

It is going to be a hot weekend, temps in the mid-90's. We have a retreat tonight and tomorrow with the Budapest TeachOverseas teachers. We wish all of you a good weekend!

Jack and Cindy,

Glad you made it safely!! You were missed at breakfast this morning (although, so was I) Fantasy Football was the other day, it was strange with no Bald Hungarians in the league. Enjoy and God Bless!

I am sure you will use your air con. We have cold weather here for our Camp Geneva Day. God bless and tell us what you want us to send you.

Jack and Cindy,
What a surprise to see this morning the latest "Spark" telling about your move to Hungary.
We were there about 12 years ago with Metropolitan Choir and were deeply touched by the love, hospitality and spiritual devotion of the people.
God bless you as you share your love, hospitality and spiritual devotion with them.

Jack and Cindy,
We do enjoy the blog and keeping updated with you. It sounds like you're off to a good, if slow, start. A few weeks from now you may wish for a slow week.
Blessings on the contacts you have already made.
God Bless,
Pete and Dot
