On Friday, January 25, the students who will be graduating in May were honored in a pinning ceremony called Szalagavato. Five classes will graduate this year. One by one the classes are on stage, where the principal pins the class leaders and the head-teacher. Then the head-teacher pins each of the students. The pin is a button with the name of the school, with a ribbon attached which shows the dates 2008-2013. The students now proudly wear these pins on their coats each day.
After the five pinning ceremonies, each class performed a professionally choreographed dance with various themes; interspersed with these were individual musical performances including Jack accompanying student Szilvi Szekely in playing the piece Chi Mai, a formal castle waltz, a teacher dance, and finally two more waltzes with students in formal wear. The entire program lasted over three hours.
