Kispest Templom Ter and Wekerletelep

We have had some beautiful weekends to show our new teammates the local sites. We decided to begin by showing them Wekerletelep, a village just walking distance from our flat, that was created when Sandor Wekerle was prime minister in 1909. He asked Károly Kós, a famous architect at the time, to head up the design of the buildings in Wekerle. Ten other architects were chosen by Kós to design the homes, schools, and public buildings in Wekerle. On our way to Wekerle we passed through Templom Ter in Kispest where we viewed the three churches located there:

The Catholic Church

The interior of the Catholic Church

The Evangelical Church

The Reformed Church

When we reached Wekerletelep, we were pleasantly surprised to find a festival going on celebrating Wekerle Days. It made the sightseeing even more fun. There were all kinds of booths set up around the square where we also found the statues of Sandor Wekerle and Károly Kós.

Here's a booth selling a special kind of bread where they prepared the dough right there
and then baked it in the special oven.
