Ippistle 24: Year Three

Dear Family and Friends,

Our summer in the states is now down to seven remaining days. It has been two months of reconnecting with family and friends, continuing to make this condo our “home away from home”, and also enjoying occasional moments of pure relaxation. We realize how important our summer has been for strengthening relationships and sharing what has been happening in our Hungarian lives. Now we eagerly anticipate returning to Budapest to begin another year of service.

Once again we spent eight days in Pasadena at the TeachOverseas training. It was a time to share with the new teachers coming in what we have learned, and especially to get to know our new central Europe colleagues. Of the twelve TO teachers going to Hungary this year, eight are new to the program, including our new Trefort partner and flat-mate Justin Den Ouden (recent Calvin grad ☺). We definitely look forward to working with this great group of people that God has put in our lives.

Our next Ippistle will no doubt be filled with how life will have changed for us. We know that Jack will be getting to know many new students, especially the newest students in the school. The Hungarians call them “the green peaches”. They do have a lot of ripening to do! Cindy will be volunteering two days at the Mission Institute and two days in the office of EDYN (Ecumenical Deaconate Year Network). Obviously a new job will have to be reported on in the next edition of the Ippistle.

We thank all of you for following our blog, reading our monthly newsletters, and simply partnering with us. We really appreciate how you walk along side us in this journey. Please continue the partnership! For those of you who have helped us financially, we hope that you will continue to support us with your donations to TeachOverseas. If you have not contributed in the past and wish to begin to do so, please visit www.teachoverseas.org and simply follow the instructions for donating. Our account number is 208020.

Thanks for serving Him with us. Áldás és békesség! Blessing and peace!

Jack and Cindy

Thank you, Jack and Cindy for your mentoring role with Justin. We know he is in good hands. Thank you for everything you have already done for him. We couldn't be more thankful for our answer to prayers in the way this all worked out.
