We have arrived in Pasadena and will be housed here at the William Carey International University for the next month. We have already had the privilege of meeting many of our fellow teachers. Tomorrow the REAL work begins, so today we will enjoy our Sabbath.
The Christian Reformed World Mission orientation was a wonderful experience. There, too, we met many great people. Nineteen of those new friends are our 2008 CRWM teammate, who are going out all over the world: Cambodia, China, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, and Uganda.
As Cindy and I begin this next part of our preparation, please pray for strength mentally and physically. Please pray also for our practice teaching; each night we are in a classroom teaching ESL.

Jack and Cindy,
We're glad to hear that you arrived in California and the next step in your mission. We will be praying for you and thinking of you in the weeks ahead as you go through training and then leave for your year of acting on this preparation. Thanks for keeping this updated so we can experience this year with you.
Blesssings,
Pete and Dot Goudzwaard
Hi,
Just a note to let you know that I'm now gonna try and check this regularly.
We showered as you do at Platte River, and made it each time using just two tokens!

Thanks for the updates. I will read them regularly and continue to lift you up in prayer.
Love,
Amanda
TFTP! Love you!
Jack & Cindy-
We just wanted to say that we are praying for you. Also, we wanted to let you know that you have left your children and grandchildren in a wonderful christian family of friends here in michigan and they will be loved and watched over by all of us. Jon, Joy, Isaac & Kendra are great friends of ours and we are blessed to have them in our lives. We look forward to hearing about your trip and praying for you both.

Jack and Cindy,
We pray God's blessing upon you as you answer the voice of the good shepherd. The doors are open wide and God will provide all your needs. We belong to such an awesome body of Christ and we are here for your family to help anytime they need us.
We are commited to pray for you everyday.

Jack & Cindy,
Just found your Blog...can't wait to read about your adventures! Will stick your photo in our "prayer album" at the dinner table. We're excited about the path God is taking you on.
Found this quote last week:
"Lord, give to me a quiet heart
That does not ask to understand,
But confident steps forward in
The darkness guided by Thy hand."
(from Elisabeth Elliot's "Keep a Quiet Heart")
Hope this encourages you as it does me.
With love,

Jack and Cindy,
This blog was a great idea! I look forward to hearing about Hungary and your teaching experiences. If the picture on the front page of the blog is any indication, it looks like you're going to be living in a beautiful city.
Blessings,

Jack and Cindy - it is great to read about what you both are doing.
We will stay on task and keep up with your Holy Adventure!
Prayerfully
